New ISD Teachers Use this page as a resource for professional development offered during the summer of 2015. August 2015 New Certificated Staff Schedule Clock Hours can be earned each day for time spent in the parameters of clock hours. Clock hour totals are dependent on sessions and hours attended. Clock hour forms will be available to sign each day . Payment for attending New Teacher Academ y: Up to one day of pay can be earned each day, including Tuesday for those who spend the morning with Human Resources and the afternoon at building orientation. Register for New Teacher Academy (NTA) on PD Place Select the individual sessions that you will be attending. The blue text boxes in the calendar indicate all of the choices for New Teacher Academy. You will register for the sessions according to your teaching assignment. Counselors: Register for New Counselor Training on PD Place, August 17. Your training is separate from New Teacher Training. You only need to register once to attend both August 17 and 18. All New Staff: The CCS P owerful Learning Conference requires a separate registration on PD Place. If you attend, be certain to check in at the ISD registration desk to complete payroll information. Week of August 24 - 28 E ach event you attend this week requires a separate registration on PD Place . Tuesday, Teacher Planning Day, does not require registration as it is not a structured professional development (PD) day. Registration for Teaching and Learning Conference 2015 begins May 13. This conference style professional development offers four 90 minutes sessions of both content specific and general topics. You are free to choose your sessions. New Teacher Academy: Orientation: Monday and Tuesday, August 17 and 18 ---All K-12 Certificated Teachers and Counselors New to ISD Whether you have been teaching for 10 minutes or 10 years, you are not going to want to miss out on this information about the NEW Evaluation Process. Washington State has a new law that mandates teacher evaluations in a way that is markedly different than years past. Come spend a day and a half learning about how your principal will evaluate your performance over the course of the year. The Issaquah School District uses the Danielson framework to define the State Criteria. Not only will you will become familiar with this new framework, you will be introduced to the new evaluation cycle and learn how the rubrics related to it are used to evaluate your practice. Teachers will meet with district Literacy Support teachers to receive training in our literacy curriculum. This requires registration on PD Place, see New Teacher; Elementary Literacy.
